To Determine The Amount of Fragrance Oil Used In A Product:
The amount of fragrance that should be used in a formulation depends on three factors:
1) The maximum amount of scent the product base will accept .
2) The maximum IFRA skin safe level.
3) The amount of fragrance that smells good in your product.
You will look at these three maximum guidelines and use the LOWEST percentage.
For example: Desired smell is 5%, making MP soap is 3%, and the IFRA max use is 15%. You should not use more than 3% in your product. This 3% is the lowest of all of those numbers.
Maximum Product Base Guidelines:
MP Soap: 3%
CP, HP, CPOP Soap: 6%
Lotions and Scrubs: 1 – 2%
Bath Salts, Fizziest & Tub Soaks: 5-10%
Candle Wax: 6-12% (see specific wax for exact levels)
To Determine The IFRA Guidelines:
IFRA is a self-regulating trade organization that together with the industry's scientific center RIFM (the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials), establishes usage safety standards for materials that comprise fragrance and essential oils. Each year IFRA updates their standards based on sound science.
Wholesale Supplies Plus updates IFRA documents annually so that customers can stay up-to-date with the latest science. If you find IFRA levels have changed for your formula, it is standard to take 2 years to update products in the market. You can find Wholesale Supplies Plus IFRA documents on the “documents” tab of this product page.
Additional Information:
Fragrance oils that contain vanilla or vanillin will change color. The color change can take days, weeks, or months and can vary from a light ivory to dark brown. Our Crafter’s Choice Vanilla Color Stabilizers and Crafter’s Choice Vanilla Color Neutralizer will prevent some products from changing color. Oils that are dark in color, contain floral notes or spices may in time naturally change color.

"One of My Best Sellers!" |
|
COMMENTS: In Fall, this is consistently one of the first soaps that I sell out of and one of the most requested for custom orders. I mix it with a Goat's Milk base and can barely make enough to keep up with the demand!

"finally found!!!" |
|
COMMENTS: I was devastated when Yankee discontinued this scent. I still had a few tarts lying around of the original, and compared the two side by side. While not a perfect dupe, this is certainly similar enough to evoke the same feeling. Walking into a fire-place warmed Ski lodge from a frigid winter day. The pine comes through in this version slightly more than the original, but it wonderfully duplicates the soothing "pipe tobacco" undertone that makes this so unusual. Excellent results in soy wax with additive, and in DPG. Have yet to try in body care, but will be testing in perfume roll on.

"Excellent" |
|
COMMENTS: Absolute wonderful duplication. The scent seems somewhat masculine to us, but is equally popular between both men and women. Seems to have a sensual, exotic tobacco scent under it all.

"Great Dupe" |
|
COMMENTS: This was my second shot at a Heavenly dupe. The first one from another supplier was dreadful, not even close to the real thing. WSP's version is excellent. I just made some body lotion and I can't tell the difference between the dupe and the real thing. Very happy with this.
